(1 year after the events of letters that were marked with a heart 3 of the girls find themselves at a crossroads so they go on a trip to solve their problems. This is the introduction to the story. Hope you enjoy.)
"Evelyn it's time. Come on we have to go." Her head is bobbing to the Christmas music brown hair in a bow on the back of her head. Green eyes shining in the driver's seat. "I'm coming Amanda. We have to get Josie yet." Evelyn pops her bags in the trunk and the pair watch the roads twist around their home town as they head to Josie's apartment. Josie walks out with her suitcase and her heels in hand. "We need time apart Simon! There is no talking to do. I'll see you in a month. Do whatever you want be with someone else but we have a choice to make this time next month."
Josie pops in and they drive off down the motorway towards Gatway airport. Where they will travel to Australia and stay. Its Christmas Eve and they are all at turning points. T junctions of what to do. Eve has to choose her career she has two apprenticeships starting next month and they both want her. Amanda has fallen in love with two guys at once she can't choose so she told them she was travelling to find herself. And Josie was on the verge of breaking up with Simon because they were growing apart in more ways than one.
Eve grabs a carrier bag out once they board and so do the other two. "Merry Christmas girls." They each have two parcels and unwrap them as the clock hits midnight. Evelyn gets a red silk dress from Josie with a low v neck and a flowy skirt. "You need to get yourself back out there. Find a girlfriend and worry later about everything else. Fly free for once. We are here to catch you if anything goes wrong." Then she gets a black journal set from Amanda. "Write everything down it can help you figure things out trust me." Evelyn smiles and says thanks.
Josie unwraps Eve's present first which is a photo album full of their friends and all the best times they have had. "Lea helped me but it's for if you get home sick. And you might be able to work out what you are doing better with the past to look through." Then she unwraps a full set of makeup and some sexual items from Amanda. "You are going to get out there and forget your problems we all are. So I have given you these so that you can get out there in style." Josie cries for a second then sighs and thanks them both, "I don't know what I would do without you all." Evelyn nods and so does Amanda.
Then Amanda unwraps her present from Josie which is a full length jumpsuit and high heels and a clutch to match. "As you both said we are forgetting our problems so we are going clubbing on the second night." They both nod. Then she unwraps Eve's gift which is a quote book they made years ago and in it is advice for their older selves. "We are all here for each other ladies now why don't we get some wine and get the part started."
They sit there talking about all the things that have happened and before they know it they are at Sydney airport.
